WHAT WE LOOK FOR
A few things that help us make a great match.
A need for connection
This is for young adults who don't have consistent, healthy family relationships to lean on while they find their footing in adulthood.
Relationship, not housing
Our program is built on connection, not a place to live. We rarely recommend moving in together, because the relationship usually lasts longer when it's its own thing.
Openness
The more honestly you share about who you are, what you want, and what you're navigating, the better we can match you with someone who really gets you.
A desire to connect
The best matches happen when a young adult truly wants one and is ready to invest: returning calls, meeting regularly, and working through the hard conversations every real relationship has.
IS THIS THE RIGHT FIT?
A great fit for many, though not for everyone.
Because we're building a healthy, lifelong relationship rather than responding to a short-term crisis, a match may not be the right next step if a young adult can't yet live independently, is in active addiction, or doesn't truly want a connected relationship. If that's where things are right now, reach out anyway. We'll help point the way to the right resources, and the door stays open.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Five simple steps, and we walk with you the whole way.
STEP 1
A first conversation
After you reach out, our team calls for a short, friendly chat to get to know you and answer any questions about how it all works.
STEP 2
Paperwork & background check
A bit of paperwork (less than an hour) and a background check, so everyone is safe and on the same page.
STEP 3
Acceptance Interview
A final conversation, by video or in person, to make sure this is the right next step for you.
STEP 4
Matching
We look for a mentor family near you, with shared interests and a good fit, so building the relationship feels natural.
STEP 5
You choose, then we stay
You review the match and say yes first. Then we support the relationship closely for at least a year, and stay available long after.
