Don't Go Alone Orlando ("DGA Orlando," "we," "us," or "our") cares about the people who trust us with their information. This policy explains what we collect when you use our website, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We've tried to write it plainly, because being honest about how we handle your information is part of treating people the way we believe they deserve to be treated.

DGA Orlando operates under the sponsorship of Connections Homes, Inc., a Georgia nonprofit ("Connections Homes"), during our launch period. Because of this relationship, some of the information you share with us is stored and managed within Connections Homes' systems. This policy explains how that works.

Information we collect

We only collect information you choose to give us, along with some basic technical information that helps our website work.

Information you give us directly. When you fill out a form on our site (such as our mentor interest form, mentor family request, church partner inquiry, or contact form), we collect the details you provide. This typically includes your name, email address, phone number if you share it, and the contents of your message.

Donation information. When our online giving becomes available, donations will be processed through a third-party donation platform. That platform collects the payment and contact information needed to process your gift. We do not see or store your full payment card details.

Technical information. Like most websites, ours automatically collects basic information through cookies and similar technologies, such as your device type, browser, and how you move through the site. We use website analytics tools, including Google Analytics, to understand how the site is used so we can improve it.

How we use your information

We use the information you share with us to:

  • Respond to your questions and follow up on your interest in mentoring, partnership, or support

  • Guide mentor families and youth through our process

  • Process and acknowledge donations

  • Communicate with you about DGA Orlando, including updates you've asked to receive

  • Understand and improve how our website serves people

  • Meet our legal, accounting, and reporting obligations

We do not sell your personal information. We never will.

Where your information goes

Information submitted through our website forms is stored and managed in Airtable, the system we use to track relationships, follow up faithfully, and keep good records as we build the program. Because DGA Orlando operates under the sponsorship of Connections Homes during our launch period, this information is also shared with Connections Homes, which handles it in line with its own privacy practices.

We also rely on trusted service providers to operate our website and program, including:

  • Squarespace, which hosts our website and powers our forms

  • Airtable, where we store and manage information submitted through our forms

  • GiveButter, which processes gifts

  • Google Analytics, which helps us understand website use

These providers only receive the information needed to do their part, and they are expected to protect it.

We may also share information when required by law, or when necessary to protect the safety and rights of the people we serve.

Cookies and analytics

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies to function properly and to help us understand how visitors use the site. Most web browsers let you control or disable cookies through your browser settings. Turning off cookies may affect how parts of the site work.

How we protect your information

We take reasonable steps to keep your information secure, and we work with service providers who do the same. No method of storing or transmitting information online is completely secure, so while we work to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

  • Ask us to correct or update your information

  • Ask us to delete your information, subject to any records we're required to keep

  • Opt out of our emails at any time, using the unsubscribe link or by contacting us

Children's privacy

Our website and programs are directed to adults. The youth we serve are young adults aging out of foster care. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through our website. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will remove it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time as our program grows or as our practices change. When we do, we'll update the effective date at the top of this page.
